Aura Cleansing and Changing Colors

A very quick and easy way to work on changing your aura is to sit or lay down when you feel most relaxed. I always recommend in the morning when you first get up and at night when you’re ready to go to bed. These are the best times to meditate because it gets into your subconscious much easier. Imagine yourself with a glass egg around you. Inside this egg is a swirling aura of black and white. The black represents self-protection and any negativity present in your life. White is the color of cleansing and total renewal.

Now visualize a bright rainbow light being sent down from your guide into the top of the egg, penetrating it, shattering it. The black and white aura colors start drifting away from you like smoke clouds, the rainbow light filling up every area of your body inside and out until you are completely immersed in it. You may begin to feel warm all over, tingle, or notice something different about your mind and body that shows this is working.

At this point imagine the rainbow light exiting through your feet, taking any and all negativity with it down into the center of the earth where it's burned up. At this point you are empty and cleansed.

Allow any color to begin blossoming in the center of your chest. The color that comes to you is the color you need at this point in your life. This colored light fills you completely from head to toes, attracting a life mate and/or the type of life you desire. Envision being out in public and this new and beautiful aura all around you, reaching out to people, and attracting a wonderful mate, a wonderful life. If you are seeing your soul mate, feel his/her energy as well. This will help greatly so that when you do meet the person you will recognize their energy. Don't try to put a face to them unless it comes easy. Just immerse yourself in the energy here.

Once you are at this point you can end the meditation. It should only take a couple of minutes or as long as you would like. Go through your day and see if things are different. You should notice that decision-making is easier, you can think more clearly, you have more energy, and opportunities to make healthy, prosperous life changes come more often.

You can always do this meditation whenever you feel you need a recharging. I suggest doing this at least once a day to keep your new aura energy strong.

Want to learn more about your aura? You can learn so much through my book Energy Work - Heal, Cleanse, and Strengthen your Aura. If you prefer a reading, I'll tell you what color(s) your aura is right now, what symbols your aura is projecting, if there are any dark or cold areas, holes or weaknesses, and more. Along with your aura reading, I'll also offer you quick and easy ways to heal your aura, clear out anything negative that’s hanging around, strengthen it and choose the color you want to give off. Talk about something that’s empowering! It’s wonderful to know that you really can control your energy and use it to your benefit rather than being at the mercy of it. Book your personal and in-depth aura or a psychic reading now!

Why Bad Things Happen To Good People

A few weeks ago I got an email from someone who had finished reading one of my books. I want to share it with you.

Hey Kelly, I am another fan of yours. I just read your spirit guide book and it is quite fascinating. Just out of curiosity what proof do you have that these are absolute facts? If these coincidences are not coincidences but something from the spirits, how is it that the holocaust and all the other travesties happened to good people? I'm not trying to be a heckler and make no mistake I do like your work but asking questions never hurts.

Thank you for your kind email. I'm so glad you've enjoyed my books! I also appreciate and welcome your questions. I, too, believe that we should all keep asking questions and keep an open mind.

By no means do I feel I know it all. I'm no messiah or the voice of God. Instead, I'm someone who's merely a few more steps ahead on the spiritual path than others might be. Everything I relay is from personal experience and information given to me by my clients after 20+ years. In the beginning, I was the most skeptical person you'd ever meet! But, after so many things happened in my own life, and witnessing it in others, I had no choice but to believe that higher beings and a higher self exists.

I guess what it all comes down to is faith. In some ways I don't like this word because it says we must simply believe rather than having proof. Though, I feel I've experienced enough personal proof to put faith in my faith. I consider myself a scientific/spiritual person.

That's an excellent question about the Holocaust and other travesties. We can look at it a few ways, though which one is correct, if any?

1. Population control (as awful as that sounds!)

2. Sacrifice for the sake of learning. (These people who lost their lives needed to leave the Earth realm at that point in time. Their passing may have been a way to teach friends, loved ones, and/or the world some valuable lessons. Also, there may have been karmic issues involved with the victims.)

3. Ignoring the signs. In some instances there were warning signs that victims chose to ignore. As with the Holocaust, many Jews (and others) saw the danger and fled, while others chose to believe the government and stayed, or felt there was no other way. Pretty soon they didn't have a choice. In my own life there have been signs I've ignored and later paid the price for, and times that I've followed the signs and reaped the benefits.

Those are the top three "reasons" that come to my mind right now. As humans we put a lot of importance on the human body and suffering. And why wouldn't we? We all want to be happy and healthy! However, sometimes it's through suffering that we grow and learn the most. Think of times in your life when you went through something sad, depressing, stressful, even devastating. Those times push you out of your comfort zone. They force you to examine your life and your choices, and very often new paths open up to you. If life is always sunshine and rainbows we won't grow. We become complacent.

I'm not saying I agree or support war, murder, genocide, and the like, I'm simply trying to look at it from the point of view of the soul rather than that of the human psyche. I'm still learning and growing too! :)

Thank you for the wonderful email.

Bright blessing to you!

Kelly

Freedom From Negativity

How often do you repeat negative things to yourself, sabotage your best efforts, and continue on the path of destructive behavior when it comes to your work, finances, health and love? Even if you aren’t aware of your negative self-talk or self-sabotage, if you’re life isn’t where you want it to be, I can guarantee you’re doing it. No matter how hard you’ve tried to succeed you just can’t get to where you want to be.

Many people will simply accept their life as-is, even if they aren’t happy or fulfilled. They figure that this is what fate has dished out and there’s nothing they can do about it. They remain prisoners of their own negative thinking, and thoughts equal action or inaction.

It’s never too late to turn things around and enjoy freedom from negativity. One of the first keys to mind power success is realizing and accepting that you manifest everything in your life. Whether you’re overweight, lonely, broke, or hate your job, you’ve attracted it into your life. This is where some people will stop reading. They don’t want to believe they’ve invited negative people or situations into their life. They refuse to take responsibility and so they’ll always remain victims. What this means is whether they won the lottery, found Mr. or Ms. Right, or any other good thing came their way they’d find some way to mess it up and get right back to where they were before.

They wouldn’t recognize a good thing if it fell in their laps. Why? Because of subconscious programming. Your brain can only recognize what it’s used to seeing and experiencing. This means you’ll live a life of suffering, struggling, or stagnation because you’re used to it.

Many programs and exercises may not help at all or only work for a short time since they don’t go deep down where early life experiences and memories are rooted. Although you may find success temporarily those habitual ways of thinking and reacting will overpower your attempt to free yourself. That’s why so many people buy book after book, hoping to find the answer that will finally help them turn everything around.

So how do you disrupt this early childhood programming? It’s easier than you think. The reason we grope around in the dark and never find our way in life is because we have so much belief in what we’ve learned. If your father said you were stupid then you must be stupid. If your mother said you were fat or lazy then you must be fat or lazy. It doesn’t mean you like it or want it, you just believe it.

Once you begin to challenge your way of thinking and start to question the “facts” you’ve learned along the way, you’ll be able to release the faulty programming since you won’t believe it anymore. You can allow your adult mind to form new beliefs and will be able to act based on these. In time, if you no longer find these helpful you can form different beliefs until you find what works for you. Always, always question your beliefs, especially if you aren’t happy with where your life is. You don’t have to remain a prisoner of what your parents or other adults programmed into your mind, you can have freedom from negativity.

In my best selling book Reprogram Your Subconscious I go into much more detail on how to change your negative thinking habits. I also cover subjects such as programming yourself for wealth, attracting and keeping true love, the healing power of the mind, getting past self-sabotage, reprogramming your mind in three easy steps, and much, much more. How To Create Good Luck

You may know people who seem to have been born lucky, but if you look closely you’ll see that most of them follow a few simple guidelines that actually CREATE good luck. Now you can have this “secret recipe” and create a fountain of good luck in your own life. Remember, practice makes perfect, so don’t give up. These methods do work at helping to create luck!

Keep Your Goals Flexible

When we have preconceived notions of how we THINK things should work out, we end up closing many doors to other possibilities. Say for example that you want this one particular job or person. Your mind is set on this one goal and that’s that. Nothing or nobody else will do. You have your vision board, your affirmations, your prayers, your self-hypnosis sessions, or whatever else you put into practice for goal-attainment. With your laser beam focus you concentrate on that one lone prize. You wait, and wait, and wait yet it never comes. Meanwhile, unknown to you, whole parades of other opportunities have passed you by! The Universe listens and sends us what we need to be happy and successful, yet too many times we’re closed off to this because we’re too focused on what we think we want.

Get Out Of Your Way

Yes, you may be getting in your own way. This happens when we try too hard or focus on the negative in our lives and not the positive. Like a silent mantra we repeat over and over again all of the bad things in our lives, all of the things we don’t want, and are completely oblivious to all of the good things. Everyone has some positive things going on. Instead, we unconsciously set up negative barriers all around us that are so wide and tall that opportunity couldn’t possibly find its way to us. We need to focus on the positive so the Universe will send more of it. We need to move forward with confidence rather than yearning for complete control. We need to believe that things will happen as they should for our own highest good. Count your blessings and they'll multiply!

Let Go Of Fear

This is a biggie! As humans we’re creatures of habit, even bad habit. We fear change because we don’t know what will happen. Even if our life isn’t where we’d like it to be, at least we know where it is. When we open ourselves up to change that’s pretty scary. Sure, we know what we’d like to happen, we try to focus on being positive, but still we hang on to the edge of that cliff for fear that we’ll fall rather than fly. Practice taking small risks and making tiny changes so that you grow comfortable with it. Once you stretch yourself beyond your current comfort zone, you’ll never go back. Soon you’ll look on your old life and wonder why you were so afraid to leave it behind.

Practice Patience

Whether you’re trying to lose weight, become financially stable, build a business, or repair your marriage, expecting huge changes right away is the quickest route to disappointment. We get frustrated and give up too quickly when the scale doesn’t move or our bank account stays in the negative. Things didn’t get as they are overnight. The way your life is right now is a sum total of every decision you’ve ever made. It’s the result of action and inaction.  Anything worth achieving takes time.

By following these guidelines and moving forward with courage, confidence, and perseverance, you can create good luck in your life every day. Each moment is filled with choices; commit to making the best ones possible!

Light and blessings,

Kelly

Finding Your Spiritual Energy - Become Your Higher Self

I'm excited to share this excerpt from my new book Become Your Higher Self--Using Spiritual Energy To Transform Your Mind, Body, Soul & Life!
Finding Your Spiritual Energy
Spiritual energy isn’t the same for everyone. There isn’t a spiritual blueprint everyone should follow, leading them to a life of bliss. Instead, you need to discover what matters most to you. Only then will you become the powerful being you were meant to be.

You can read through the following questions and answer them in your mind or, better yet, write in a journal or open a blank document on your computer and type your thoughts out.

1. What fills you with spiritual energy?
Remember, we aren’t talking about religion. Your spirituality relates to your connections with people, the planet, and all living things. It’s something you enjoy and feel really good about. In turn, this energy goes deep inside you, lighting those internal spiritual fires.

For example, I love being in nature. I live in Baltimore and feel steeped in my own spirituality simply by spending time among the streams and lakes, trees and flowers. Often I’m filled with such an incredible force I feel like I literally glow from the center of my being. In turn, this force colors my actions and reactions, reaching out and affecting everyone around me.
There are many activities that can fill us with spiritual energy such as volunteering, playing music, dancing, spending time with loved ones, meditating, and so on. Dozens of things fill me with spiritual energy, nature is just one of them.
2. Who makes you feel most energized?
Who do you like being around? What is it about her/him that makes you feel this way? Does this person make you feel happy, connected, enlightened, more aware, or optimistic? What traits of this person would you like to incorporate into your own life?

When I was younger I surrounded myself with many people. Some lifted me up while others put me down. Some made me feel light and energized, while others had me feeling drained and depressed. After my spiritual awakening I realized what a waste it was having people in my life who dragged me down. Now I choose to only interact with others who are spiritually energetic.
One person I love having in my life is Cassie. She doesn’t even know she’s a spiritual person and it doesn’t really matter. Our energies complement each other well and we spend time together at least once a week. She faces each problem she encounters with confidence and conviction, and she’s one of the most laid back people I know. Not much ruffles this lady’s feathers, and she’s always trying to better herself. Once she reaches one rung on life’s ladder, she moves on to the next.
A spiritually energizing person is one who leaves you feeling positive after having been in their company.
3. Who or what makes you feel spiritually drained?
This is different than feeling physically drained. After a long day of work or of tending to kids, laundry, shopping, and housework you may feel physically, mentally, and/or emotionally drained and this can indeed affect you spiritually. What we’re talking about here though is what hits you in the spiritual zone. Who or what leaves you feeling like you’ve got a gaping hole in your soul? Could it be a lack of purpose in life, a negative relationship, or a dead-end job? Maybe someone in your life drains you?

A few things that have spiritually drained me are:
- Living in the desert. I truly needed to be in lush surroundings to feel spiritually energized so I moved back to Baltimore.
- Not following my life purpose. I tried my hand at public speaking and being a ghost writer. These two things drained me on many levels. Once I started writing my own books and helping others this way my spiritual self grew by leaps and bounds.
- Choosing the wrong men. Since I was used to seeing the men in my life abuse women, I naturally gravitated toward these dysfunctional relationships until I was spiritually awake. Only then did I start to attract positive men and ultimately found my soul mate.

The interesting thing about your spiritual self is it will know when something is right or wrong before you know it on an emotional, mental or physical level. You get a niggling sensation inside that says this person or situation is bad for you, yet we ignore it until we’re affected on other levels.
4. What are your top five energy boosters?
What healthy things do you do, or can you do, to make yourself feel more energized? Do you go for a walk, exercise, meditate, read a book, write in a journal, or play a game or sport? This is something personal to you and doesn’t necessarily mean you’re helping another person. Sure, we associate deep spirituality with reaching out to the world around us, but you need to nurture yourself as well.

When I need an energy boost I either crochet, watch a movie with a loved one, take a walk, or listen to music. These small things that bring me pleasure really help to lift me up spiritually. As I mentioned before, everything is connected within you. Something that affects you on one level--be it mentally, physically, emotionally or spiritually--is going to seep in and affect all other areas.
5. What or who requires too much spiritual energy at this time?
Even if something seems like a good cause or worthwhile activity, at this point in your life it may require far too much spiritual energy. Pursuing this activity or relationship may cause you to feel drained, disconnected, or frustrated.

Your spiritual path should be one that fills you with joy and peace. If there’s something in your life that isn’t contributing to your highest good, ask yourself if you really want to hold on to it. Sometimes, releasing someone or something is the quickest way to recapture spiritual energy and focus.
A few years ago I wanted to start volunteering since I knew it would add to my overall happiness and spiritual pursuits. Animals and domestic abuse are two of my top concerns. I went to several animal shelters to see how I could offer my volunteer services, though I quickly discovered it would require far more time and effort than I could comfortably provide. I didn’t want to feel drained or stressed out when I was trying to do the world a bit of good! Finally I found a few volunteer places that met my personal schedule. I crochet “comfort scarves” for abused women and help out with online science projects.
Pursuing a spiritual path should never leave you feeling tired or frustrated. Seek out those people and things that make you feel fulfilled.

Intuitive Tarot - Instantly Learn To Read Tarot Cards

Intuitive Tarot - Read The Tarot Instantly is one of my best selling books. It's in the top 10 of tarot books on Amazon. Best of all, it's only $2.99 for the ebook. I've received many emails from readers saying they'd never been able to remember the traditional meanings of the cards and that my book was fun and freeing for them. And, yes, you can read them instantly, no previous experience needed! I want to share one of the exercises from this book with you.

Here are just a few comments readers have left on Amazon about the book:

"In about thirty minutes, I was reading the Tarot cards intuitively, and it is Fun!"

"I am a beginner and this book helped me tremendously."

"This book made me feel competent and able to give a reading without years of book study yet able to rely upon my lifetime of knowledge."

"I can boldly, happily, truthfully say that I can read tarot RIGHT NOW--even before the cards I just ordered arrive. Thanks, Kelly. You rock."

Getting To Know Your Cards

This is the fun part! After you have your question in mind and have laid out the cards any way you'd like (laying three cards in a row works best for me),turn the first card over. You’re going to be using free association, your imagination, and your intuition to read the cards. You won’t be wrong, so have no fear.

As you turn the first card over, what pops out at you first? Maybe a color, a symbol, the figure, or the number. Think about that for a moment and what it means to you. Perhaps you flipped over the Justice card and right away you notice the red in the card first. What does red represent to you? Anger? Passion? Fire? Sensuality? Now what do you see? Does the woman in the card seem happy, angry, sad, anticipatory, judgmental, or apathetic? Just keep going with this as it pertains to the question and see what you come up with.

Someone may ask about a relationship and the red may represent passion and the scales show good balance between the couple. Perhaps someone else sees the color red and, keeping Justice in mind, interprets it as going through a red light and maybe getting a ticket. Still someone else may see red as anger and the sword in her hand represents being stabbed in the back. Everyone will interpret the cards differently and so will you.

In fact, it will change every time your question changes, which is the beauty of reading the cards intuitively rather than sticking to traditional meanings. It’s difficult to memorize traditional card meanings and then force them to fit in with your question and then decipher the message. Talk about stress! Reading tarot cards should be a fun learning experience, not like studying for college finals.

Allow your intuition to pick up on what it needs to each time you read the cards rather than forcing yourself to see what you think you should be seeing. You can read each card separately or read them all together like a story.  Iusually read each card separately then at the end weave them together. This seems to be the best approach for me.

Feel free to keep notes if you’d like or simply soak in the information. When I first started reading the cards I preferred to keep notes so I could go over them in the future to see how well they predicted events or offered solid guidance.

I'd love to hear your experiences with this simple exercise on reading the tarot intuitively! You can contact me at: Dr.Kelly.Psychic.Counselor@gmail.com

Until next time,

Light and blessings!

Inner Peace In A Chaotic World - Heart Meditation

This is a brief meditation I do when life is difficult, stressful, or downright insane. It always brings me back to my center and calms me, helping me to focus on love rather than frustration. When we do things with love, when we come from a place of love, when we extend love to others, life just works better. People are more helpful and more positive things tend to come my way. Give this a try today and everyday!

Heart Meditation

By following the steps below you can quiet your mind and find peace and wisdom within, no matter what's going on in your life or around you. If you do this every day when you first wake up you'll find that life becomes easier. You'll be able to attract better opportunities, health, love, and happiness, as well as being able to think more clearly and from a higher place. This is also a great exercise to do when you're feeling stressed, confused, frustrated, or simply want to reconnect with your higher self.

1. Go someplace quiet and sit down. Close your eyes and take a slow, deep, cleansing breath through your nose. You're breathing in energy, clarity, and peace. Now exhale slowly, breathing out stress, tension, and anxiety. Do this five times, or until you feel a bit more relaxed.

2. As you continue to slowly breathe in and out, shift your attention away from your mind and focus on your heart. Your heart is where peace and love lives at all times, regardless of what's going on inside your mind or in your life. Keep your attention on your heart and as you breathe in imagine your heart filling with a warm light. Let this light be any color you wish. Imagine your heart glowing, expanding, relaxing.

3. Now imagine this light spreading from your heart to all areas of your body. This peaceful yet energizing light fills your chest and head, your stomach, your back, your hips and legs and feet. Every cell inside you glows with this light. This light is the unconditional love that lives within you. A love that comes from your higher self, your guides, your angels.

4. When you feel, or envision, that your entire body is gently glowing or vibrating with this light, place your right hand over your heart and bring your mental focus there. Ask what your heart needs you to know at this time. What do you truly need at this point in time? What are you looking for, yearning for, aiming for? Ask your heart to send you a message then be silent and wait for any type of communication you may receive.

5. Have faith and believe that the answer you receive is what you need at this moment for your highest good. If the answer is loving, helpful, soothing and solid then you know it's right.

6. Visualize yourself following this guidance. How will your life change once this desire, wish or goal is achieved? Imagine it in as much detail as possible.

7. Take action on the information you received in any way that feels good and right to you. What steps do you need to take each day to achieve this goal? Smile to yourself, allowing these positive feelings to spread throughout you. This is your truth.

8. Breathe a few more times and let it all go. Know that your higher self, guides and angels will help you achieve this. Trust that you will be led in the right direction, that the "way" will unfold before you.

9. Open your eyes and stretch a bit before standing up and going about your day. Allow these feelings of peace and love to extend outward to everyone you come in contact with today. When we come from a place of love, life is so much easier!

I hope you enjoy this meditation and invite you to share your experiences with me!

Light and blessings,

Kelly

Good Luck, Concidence, or Miracle? How Will You Know?

When it comes to those moments when a miracle takes place, will you know it? Will you recognize it as something truly special and not simply good luck or coincidence? The way I know a miracle has taken place in my life is because I feel differently inside. Not just a spark of happiness over something positive taking place, but when I witness a miracle and make the right decisions in my life I feel lighter. Do you ever notice how heavy you feel when life isn't going well? But when life is positive you stand taller, laugh more, breathe more deeply, and you walk differently. One of my client's actually hears a song in her head when a miracle has taken place. Another tends to whistle a tune. Over time you'll discover what your miracle clues are, and it's good to know this since very often your "logical" mind will try to talk you out of enjoying the miracle!

Living in this state of creating miracles means you're living life as your higher self, rather than at the mercy of your human, earth self. Your earth self is here to help keep you alive, but we often get into the trap of thinking this is all there is. This body of muscle and skin and bones is all there is to us. Nonsense! When you're living as your highest self you aren't guided by fear or boredom, but by passion, intuition and excitement. This is your true essence, your soul expressing itself. When you're living with true purpose and joy it becomes a miraculous life rather than one based on completing a mission or sitting on the sidelines watching good things happen to other people.

Keep your eyes open for your own personal miracles. They might not always be huge and life-altering, but could offer you small reasons to smile and keep your confidence strong when your day is otherwise stressful. Keeping a miracle journal is a great way to focus on the positive in your life and truly become a magnet for miracles. Go back over this journal and you'll see over time how many miracles you truly experience and how many more take place as you raise your aura energy.

Finding Your Life Purpose In 4 Simple Steps

Is This All There Is?

How many times have you wondered, “Is this all there is, or do I truly have a life purpose?”

We come down here to Earth as souls in human form. We live and learn and love each and every day until we give up this costume of flesh and bone and blood and go back to where we came, then do it all over again. When you think about it, life and the soul can be frustratingly complicated or delightfully easy. Many people choose to live a life filled with complicated frustrations, chaos and mass confusion. Some people are happily ignorant or blissfully unaware. Most of us fluctuate or live somewhere in the middle.

With all of these lessons to learn about love, money, health, and career, how can we expect to discover our purpose too? Keeping our finances balanced seems beyond our means most of the time and yet we crave to discover why we’re truly here? What are we meant to do? How can we help others? What big plans does Spirit have for us?

It’s easier than you think, which is probably why it always seems out of reach. We thoroughly believe that discovering our life purpose has to be more difficult than trying to decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs. It doesn’t have to be this way. Here are some simple steps to discover your purpose in life.

Exercises: Finding Your Life Purpose

1. Don’t compromise yourself. In other words, you can’t spend your life doing for others, following someone else’s path and dreams and goals, and bowing down to society. You need to be true to yourself, your wants, your needs and your desires. That’s not to say that you should suddenly become rude or irresponsible, ditch your marriage, abandon your kids, and tear up your bills. What it does mean is that you may need to say “no” more often so you can pursue things that fulfill you and bring you peace. Maybe you want to go back to school, volunteer, or simply read a book under the shade of a tree.

2. Live your life as if ever day has a purpose. Rather than looking at the end result of your grand purpose in life, take each day and use it as mini-steps that will get you to where you need to be. Maybe you don’t know where it is you want to end up. That’s okay! As long as you’re doing things every day that bring you comfort and happiness you’ll find your purpose at some point.

3. “Remember what the dormouse said, ‘Feed your head’” You can’t find your true purpose in life unless you read, listen, watch, learn, and take action. Read a book, watch a documentary, take a class, whatever you can do that will stretch your mind will help you discover your purpose. Your mind and soul are like a rubber band and every time it stretches it never goes back to the original shape. Keep stretching!

4. Patience, Grasshopper. Why are humans in such a hurry? We spend decades screwing up our lives yet we want to be successful and live a life of purpose moments after reading the latest self-help or how-to book? It ain’t gonna happen!

Life is a journey, not a destination. Sure, look upon your true purpose as some place you’ll eventually get to, but enjoy the scenery along the way.

Not everyone is meant to be the next Oprah or Madonna or Mother Theresa. A life of purpose is something that makes you feel good about being alive and it should benefit others as well since all life purpose paths touch others in some way, making their lives better as well.

Finding your purpose in life is truly easy, it just takes time and a willingness to stay the course yet freedom enough to go where the wind takes you. I cover this topic and many, many more in my book 10 Minutes A Day To A Powerful New Life.

Creating And Using Your Personal Altar

I've received many emails from clients asking how they should go about creating a personal altar. Having an altar will give you a sense of stability and power. It’s a place for you to focus, visualize, and meditate.

Creating Your Personal Altar

1. Your altar could be the top of your dresser, a shelf in the corner, or a table. My personal altar is on the top of my dresser, and I also have a small side table in one corner of the living room for client blessings.

2. Find a piece of cloth to cover your altar, choosing something that resonates with you. There are many websites that offer the meanings of certain colors and many times people will choose a color based on the type of energy they're trying to attract or goal they wish to complete. I haven’t found this necessary. I truly believe that your higher self and guides know just exactly what you need, and it will make your altar 100% unique and personal to you.

When I was at a fabric store I found a one-yard length of dark blue material with glitter stars on it. This piece of cloth made me smile and felt right to me so I bought it and still use it today.

3. A candle in any colory or type you feel drawn to is a good addition to your altar. I sometimes use tapered candles, though usually use tea light candles since I can find so many beautiful holders for them. Also, I do a lot of blessings for clients so I buy A LOT of candles! Tea lights are cheaper and come in everything from non-scented white to just about any scent and color you could imagine. If you aren't sure what color candle to use, white is always the go-to color. It can help cleanse out negative and attract positive, but go with what feels right to you.

4. Other items you may want to keep on hand are incense, small statues you feel drawn to (Jesus, Buddha, animal totem, etc.), an assortment of stones or crystals, whatever you’d like.

I have a lot of fun going to stores and finding new things for my altar. There are those I retire to a drawer then bring them out when I feel the need.

You can also include the four elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water. A candle can represent Fire, some water in a bowl represents Water, a stone can represent Earth, a feather can represent Air.

Having a clear crystal on your altar is also helpful. You can focus on this during your meditations then carry it with you to remind yourself of your desires and draw upon the power of your intentions.

Your altar can be as plain or fancy as you wish. If it suits you and your personality, it will work. Don’t pressure yourself worrying about what is or isn’t on your altar. As time passes you’ll find exactly what works for you.

Using Your Altar

This is the easiest part. Go to your altar once in the morning soon after you get up then again before going to bed, light the candle, and give thanks for the abundance and positive things in your life. Think of your current wishes/goals, visualize them, imagine them in as much detail as possible as if you're already experiencing them in your life. For example, if you're trying to find true love, how will you feel and how will your life change once you find it? Ask your guides/angels to bring you the necessary tools and opportunities to make your dreams become reality. Ask that you remain awake and open to their signs and guidance. Now leave it in the hands of your guides and higher self and go about your day or go to bed.

This short ritual keeps your optimism strong and helps to shift your mind and energy toward your goals.  :)
